Midleton Falcons Basketball Club is proving that basketball is about far more than competition. Founded with a vision to bring basketball opportunities to local young people, the club has grown steadily over the last 25 years. What began with younger age groups has expanded into a full pathway from beginner academy players right through to senior teams. The club’s philosophy has always focused on participation and community. Midleton Falcons proudly promotes an environment where everyone is welcome, regardless of experience or ability.
On the 9th of May, the club celebrated another successful season with its annual Awards Night. Every player received a medal in recognition of their hard work and commitment during the year. Special awards, including Most Valuable Player, Most Improved Player and Coaches’ Awards, were also presented across all age groups, highlighting the dedication, progress and positive attitude shown by players throughout the club.

Volunteer coaches, including players from senior ranks, help mentor younger members and create strong connections between age groups. This spirit of support and leadership has helped shape what many members proudly call the “Falcons Family.”
Parents and supporters also play an important role within the club, with strong communication and organisation helping everyone stay connected through digital tools such as the ClubZap app. Alongside regular training sessions and fixtures, members also benefit from club events, workshops and development opportunities throughout the season.
Midleton Falcons are always welcoming new members across all age categories, from young beginners aged 7 right through to senior players. The club also runs a popular Social Ball session for adults aged 30+, where everyone is welcome regardless of skill level, experience or age. It offers a fun, relaxed and social way for adults to stay active, meet new people and enjoy the game of basketball.
More than just a sports club, Midleton Falcons helps build confidence, friendships and a sense of belonging within the local community. Its community-first approach continues to make a positive impact on children, families, volunteers and supporters throughout the Midleton area.
